Personal Statement

I am dedicated and hard working with a strong team ethic and very strong interest in increasing my skill set.  I have always enjoyed working and studying in IT and continue to work towards my MCSE certification.  I’m currently working for a large organisation in their UK based IT department supporting 500 desktops, 10 servers distributed across 3 key sites.

March 2008 to Present Day: McCain Foods, Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire
IT Support Technician
Due to the need to work away from home 75% of the time I decided to pursue a career closer to home.  McCain allowed me to test my abilities within a completely new environment which I quickly adapted to.
I along side one other colleague do technical support for both desktop and server systems for three McCain sites across the UK and rotated 24 hour support for all sites in the UK.
Made suggestions to improve the support service and helped implement support improvements across my three sites.


2006-2008: Capita Symonds, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
IT Support Analyst
Capita acquired Ruddle Wilkinson and as a result I was incorporated into the Capita Symonds IT team which expanded my 2nd line support role to cover offices in Cambridge and additional offices in London.
Maintained servers and related technologies around the estate such as WINS, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory.
Assisted in the development and implementation of new projects such as the encryption of laptops across the south region and movement of Exchange mail to new servers.


2001-2006: Ruddle Wilkinson, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
IT Support Analyst
Started as an IT assistant supporting the existing team.
IT purchasing for the team, maintain relationships with suppliers and 3rd party support
First line support for the office.
Developed my skill set and studied part time.  The qualifications and experience allowed me to continuously take on additional responsibilities.
Maintained the servers and networking technologies such as DNS, WINS, DHCP and Exchange.
Role expanded to cover second office in London and became 2nd line support for London providing assistance to first line support.
Played a large role in the implementation of Workspace in the organization which continues to be used and developed within Capita Symonds


2000-2001: PC Centre, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Web Designer
Responsible for maintaining existing client websites. Designed and maintained the PC Centre website with the goal of improving customer interaction with the business.  Small online shopping cart developed with ASP.
